WHY SEND YOUR CHILD TO CAMP?
Summer camp is proven to grow children in many areas of life, because it emphasizes:
• Confidence and creativity
• Agility and athleticism
• A positive, can-do attitude
• Team work, communicating, working out social skills among peers
• Being active and outdoorsy*
• Get out of their normal environment and take risks in adventure
• Talking about their problems or concerns of their age group. (Their camp counselors are their mentors, friends for life!)
• The love of Christ and how He intends for them to know Him.**

*Studies show that kids are less and less physically fit due to the amazing technological inventions of our time. Give them a break from the gaming, facebooking, texting and tweeting for a week. AND give yourself a break and get some things done in your own life while the kids are having a blast in a safe environment!
**We go to great lengths to convey that following God means loving Him first and loving others in a grace-filled way. We honor and respect the various denominations, and keep the message simple. For further concerns in this or any area, please contact Lori Rodgers or John Thomas at any time at 501-354-3959.

WHO WILL BE TAKING CARE OF MY KIDS AT CAMP?
Lori Rodgers has worked at summer camps since she was a 10th grader--from junior counselor to director in various areas. This will be her second year directing Camp Solgohachia, and she worked with youth for over 20 years. She has degrees in education and counseling which come in handy while managing youth and staff. She is committed to safe, healthy, hilarious, faith-filled good times at camp where everyone gets noticed and valued, and God is glorified.

Camp Counselors are typically college-age kids who are carefully screened and trained with background checks, references and interviews. We strive to hire young adults who will be an example of Christ to all, who can manage a group of kids and start up the fun wherever they are.

The summer staff is accountable to the OCC Executive Director and Board of Directors.
